Summary:

Our MICR Font GnuMICR is defined in the Word *rtf file. Which results in a CMC7 MICR Font and is not E13B our new Bank requires E13B.

according to Doc ID 1412944.1 There is a known bug in Microsoft Word that corrupts fields and text that are in MICR font, when writing them as a RTF file.

Solution offered in Doc ID 1412944.1
In order to resolve the issue, do NOT reference the MICR font in the RTF template.
Reference a different font (for example "Book Antiqua") in the template and then map that font to the MICR font.
