Is it okay to include list price values in PDH CO when there is already CPQ Pricing Portal?

Summary:

In our current implementation, we have PDH and Oracle CPQ. CPQ is the system of record that stores the list pricing data for the customer. The customer has asked to use the Commercialization change order process in PDH to create an EFF to store list price values and use that as a way to trigger a change order whenever the price changes and have a milestone approver step to let the pricing admin know to make the change in pricing admin.

I have advised against storing list price values and have instead opted in create a "date" EFF as a trigger point to make the change and list the new needed price in the comments of the change order. Please let me know if this is okay or if we should follow best practice approach and keep any sort of pricing away from PDH and let the system of record (CPQ) manage all changes to a price.
