How to remove records if we perform backdated Promotion

Hello Everyone,

I have a scenario with employee data as below;

Person Number Effective Date Action

100 01-Jan-2022 Hire

100 01-Jul-2023 Promote

100 01-Oct-2024 Position Sync

100 01-Dec-2024 Position Sync

System Date is 17-Feb-2024, I want to perform back-dated promotion from 01-Jul-2024 and the expected behavior should be that a new record should get inserted and records after 01-Jul-2024 should be remove like below;

Person Number Effective Date Action

100 01-Jan-2022 Hire

100 01-Jul-2023 Promote

100 01-Jul-2024 Promote

However, currently when we perform Promotion transaction, new record does get inserted but records after 01-Jul-2024 is not removed. As a result Employee's promotion is not reflected correctly. Does anyone know how this scenario can be catered? Thanks in Advance.
