Assigning Permissions

Summary:

If I cannot assign permissions at the application level because there are some dimensions / node types a user group should not see, is the next best place to assign permissions at the Dimension level? If the Dimensions are Lookup or Unbound Dimension types does that matter?

And if there is one Dimension that I don’t want to assign at that high/general up of a level (due to multiple node types and not needing same access across them), is Node Type the next best place?

I know these are general Permission questions without much context. However, we have everything set up already permissions wise for some time now, but we have a newer View and Viewpoints that a set user group will need to access. I need to assign Write permissions to one new Viewpoint in the new View for users to be able to submit requests, however, there are 3 other Viewpoints in that View that are lookups or unbound Viewpoints that they will also need access to because there are properties in the Viewpoint where they will make edits that select
