how to customize seeded data model?

Summary:

I am trying to create new report from globalReportsDataModel (a seeded data model). I want to customize this seeded data model as per my requirement and limit the attributes into my report but i am not able to do it in shared folder. I cannot see the actual code into the data model when i copied into shared folder. Is there any way to customize this data model? Please advise.
