When Exporting Transactions like Balance Explanations, Does this Replace ALL Transactions Loaded?

If Transactions for something like Balance Explanations are loaded, does this replace ALL Transactions for that Period previously loaded, or only the ones for the specified Reconciliations in the load?

We are looking to import Balance Explanation Transactions to our Reconciliations through Data Integration, and while going through the documentation, we noted the following comment:

When it says "Transactions previously imported using Data Integration, Imported Transactions, or Smartview" does it mean Transactions for that Period for that Location, Transactions for that Location for that Period for only the Profiles in the load, ALL Transactions in that Period, ALL Transactions in that Location, or ALL Transactions for ALL Locations for that Period, or something else? We have users that load Transactions to other Reconciliations manually and through SmartView and we want to ensure that if we then import Transactions for some other specified Reconciliations, this import will not then blow away all other Transactions loaded to
