Employee photo change request issues

We have received a few reports from workers that their profile photos are now turned 90 degrees. Is there a known issue with profile photo formatting? Does it help to use a different browser? Would metadata impact a photo upload and how HCM interprets how the photo will display? Any insights and/or specific Oracle documentation references are appreciated.
