Can we have a DFF created a Numeric datatype but display type as checkbox

Summary: Can we have a DFF created a Numeric datatype but display type as text?

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information): Our client Business wants to have as much numeric DFFs available for use as possible. So for some of DFFs, which they want to be shown as check-boxes, they want those to be created as Numeric ones in place of Characters.

Please let us know if there is a way it can be configured in Oracle.

I tried creating a Numeric Datatype DFF, with a numeric value set with values as 1 and 0, and with the Display type as Check-Box. Upon saving the DFF, I got an error that Checkbox display type is not compatible with the value set.
