Update Item description automatically based on item description rule updates

Summary:

We created items via conversion. We have item description rules to generate description for items. While validating these items, we found there are a few additional spaces in the items description. At this point no transactions are performed using any items. We believe that we can fix the future item description by fixing the rule. But I would like to know if there is a way to automatically get the item description updated once we update the rules? We don't want to manually do it and FBDI is a possibility but it will be time consuming would like to avoid.
