Hire an employee - address - postal code is duplicating the LOVs

My Client Groups > Hire an employee - the address field has a postal code which is duplicating the LOVs. E.g. it shows New York and NY with same code. is it possible to keep it just NY and remove the duplicate.

As the responsive only has NY so the client would like to keep it that way in the redwood too.
