Run Carry Forward can be back dated?

Summary:

We need to run PO Budget Carry Forward, can we run it as of 1st of January 25?, i mean that if i run it today and i have PO already closed this month May25 the system will not consider it during the carry forward running, but if i was run it 1st of January the system will carry forward this PO as it' was still open at this time 1st Jan 25?
