Is it possible to edit work mail?

Summary:

We need to know if it is possible to edit a work email (change or correct it).
Currently we cannot do it and we want to know if we need a role or an additional privilege to perform this task.
We know it can be done with HDL, but the user wants to do it from the same screen where this field can be edited.
