Employees cannot self request roles using the Redwood account management page

We have been using the RUI user account page for employees to self request roles. This has been possible following this article Add option in Self Requestable Role in Roles and Delegation page from Employee self-service. — Cloud Customer Connect

However, we are now testing Redwood user account page and the add button is not visible (visible for HR and Line Manager…). Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?
