Approvals Top Group behavior

I’d like to confirm the below behavior regarding Approvals.

Currently, in our Entity dimension, we have the following hierarchy (only a small example as we have way more approval units):

The W_ENTITYCONSOL group is assigned at the top level, with some child entities underneath.

When users are assigned to the top-level group, they can see all data and DE locations as expected . However, in Approvals, we have Child A defined as the Approval Unit. When users are assigned only to the top-level group, they encounter an "Approvals Security Export" error in Data Exchange. Once the specific group (e.g., for Child A) is assigned directly, it works correctly.
