Unable to End Date Elements?

Hello -

Our SR is sitting with development at the moment, so I thought I'd reach out to see if anyone had any advice for us.  We are needing to end date some elements and are running into the error 'The effective end date cannot be earlier than the effective end date of a child record. (PAY-1635022).  Retry the operation with a valid effective end date or remove future changes to the child record.' when trying to do so from Setup and Maintenance > Manage Elements screen, using the End Date button when you first click on the element.  We have either
