Applies To:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later

Linux x86-64

Symptoms:

An instance with a large memory like 512GB is configured with around 220GB HugePages. The boot volume backup is taken for this instance and a new instance is created with 16GB memory from this backup.

The new instance is created only to test if the instance can be restored from the backup in case the instance become inaccessible.

The new instance fails to boot with error
