Inquiry: Project Margin and Profitability Reporting by Party Level
Hello Everyone,
I am currently conducting a POC to determine whether we can run project margin and profitability reports using the customer party hierarchy defined in the customer master. For example, a company like Maersk may have multiple legal entities and customer accounts under a single party. We would like to understand if it is possible to generate project reports at a consolidated customer (party) roll-up or hierarchy level within Projects.
As part of this POC, I have created two different contracts with different customers.
We want to check if reporting can be performed at the customer party level, given that Accounts Receivable allows multiple customer accounts under a single party, and a customer can have multiple contracts. Specifically, if there are two different contracts with two different customer accounts that both belong to the same party, both contracts and their related projects should roll up to the party level. Ideally, we should be able to view profitability by customer party, with each project reflecting its own revenue and contract, and the system aggregating total revenue and cost to provide profitability at the party level.
