Editable Field for Line Manager Only in Resignation Approval Workflow

I received a client request to enhance the resignation approval workflow in Oracle HCM Cloud.

They want to add a new field: “Exempted from the notice period?” (Yes/No) with the following behavior:

  • Visible/editable only to the line manager during approval.
  • Hidden from the employee during submission.
  • Read-only for HR after manager approval.

I suggested using comments or editing the request during approval, but the client rejected this, requesting a dedicated field inside the approval UI for the line manager.

I would like to know if it's possible to customize the approval template or use existing HCM functionality to:
