RSSP-DFF value display on requisition line

On noncatalog requisition entry when selecting a value to fill a DFF the drop-down menu lists the value and description. Is there any way to manage this display so that it does not appear redundant or do we have to remove the descriptions from the DFF value set values? Is it possible to hide the description using VBS?

As a reference this is the display in the classic UI. Both the value and description are visible, but with some space between the fields.
