Controlling Pending Worker Auto-Conversion

Hello,
I’m reaching out to see if any other organizations have implemented controls around the auto-conversion of Pending Workers.
Our business requirement is to ensure that a specific document is signed before a Pending Worker is converted to an Employee. Ideally, if the required form has not been completed, the system would prevent the automatic conversion from taking place.
Has anyone successfully accomplished this? If so:
- What approach or workaround did you use?
- Were you able to enforce this using Journeys, checklists, DFFs, or other tools?
- Did you keep the scheduled auto-conversion process, or move to manual conversion?
