Residual Difference / Negative Unpaid Amount in Installment After Prepayment Application

Hi everyone,

We're noticing an unexpected result related to prepayment application against an invoice with multiple installments

Here's the scenario:

Standard Invoice: Amount 24,000, Vat 12% 2,571.43, WHT 428.57.

Prepayment Applied: Amount 12,000, Vat 12% 1,285.71, WHT 214.29

The Invoice has three Installments

Installment 1: 12,000 (Unpaid: 11,892.85) 50%

Installment 2: 6,000 (Unpaid: -53.57) 25%

Installment 3: 6,000 (Unpaid: 53.57) 25%

The total unpaid amount is showing as 11,785.71

It appears that this may be due to the withholding tax from the prepayment when it was applied to the standard invoice, which is set up with multiple installments.

Questions:

Is this standard behavior in Oracle Fusion Payables when applying prepayments to invoice with installment?

What causes the negative unpaid amounts appear in the Manage Installment screen?
