Question on Resource Exceptions and Forecast Consumption in Constrained Supply Plan

Summary:

I’m running a constrained supply plan for a 4-month horizon in Oracle Fusion Supply Planning. I’ve come across a confusing behavior related to resource exceptions and forecast consumption.

Here’s the scenario:

  • My forecast demand for the 2nd month is 1250 MT.
  • My resource usage is 0.7 hours/MT.
  • The actual sales orders for that month are:
    • 400 MT on 11th
    • 350 MT on 20th
    • 500 MT on 25th
  • So, total demand = 1250 MT.

There are 22 working days in the month, and the resource (a machine) has 24 hours/day available with a capacity of 1 (i.e., one machine). So:

  • Available capacity = 22 × 24 = 528 hours
  • Required hours

Howdy, Stranger!
