FYI notification does not cancel or reset the deadline for requisition approval

Hello,

For ReqApproval task, we have defined an expiration setting to escalate a level in the workflow after 3 days at task level.

We have a case where the approver has sent a FYI request to the requester within those 3 days, on D+1. But the requester did not answer, still within those 3 days.

The requisition had thus been escalated to the next approver on D+3.

The question is: Does a FYI request acts as an action (like approve or reject) not considered as inactivity? We would like the FYI request to reset or cancel the expiration setting since we consider it as an action.
