What identifiers can be used for Multi-Org setup apart from Legal Entity (LE)?

We are currently assessing the options available for Multi Org set up other than LE, below are few of our considerations. We wanted to know if there are any other identifier we could use/ what would be Oracle's recommendation. Identifiers other than LE:

1- New Division

2- Reporting establishment

3- Department flexfield
