Changing Purchase Order Fields without Creating a Change Order as PO Acknowledgement

Currently if any field needs to be updated in a purchase order, A Change Order needs to be created. Is their a functionality in Oracle that allows changing Purchase Order Fields like promised delivery date without creating a Change Order as PO Acknowledgement?
