Supplier Registration system error

Recently we have been encountering system performance issues during the supplier registration process. We send the registration link for the supplier to complete the onboarding event. The supplier clicks the link, begins working on the registration, encounters an error and is kicked out of the system. They then try to go back into the registration event to complete the process but they get an error stating a registration request already exists for their company. Is there any way around this? The supplier did not have the opportunity to click Save and generate a progress link so they're stuck in limbo.
