Transferring capitalized and billed cost from one award to another
Summary:
We are doing a new implementation and the requirements are as follow:
Users need to first add projects to a default award with default funding source and capture project costs. They get the actual sources of funding after 2-3 years and are reimbursed then. Once they get the actual information on the funding sources, they will create new awards and associate project there and transfer the costs to the new awards.
Below is the probable solution being proposed:
Associate the projects to a default funding source and create budget
Capture all costs (billable/capitalizable) and accounted those
Create new awards once funding source information is and available and create appropriate budgets
