How Did You Map Natural Accounts to Financial Categories in Oracle Fusion ERP for FDI?

edited Sep 3, 2025 5:17PM in General Ledger & Intercompany

Good Day,

I've reviewed some related posts but none that directly address my question, so posting below.

Here at WellSpan we're implementing Oracle FDI this fall and endeavoring to complete the prerequisite work associated with this effort. Part of the prerequisite work for Fusion ERP is the mapping of Natural Accounts to Financial Categories.

As we're doing this mapping however, we're realizing the available Financial Categories do not really line up well with our Chart of Accounts (COA), especially as a Healthcare organization. As we see it we could 1) make use of the available options to ensure availability of out of the box (OOB) content even though results wouldn't easily understood in our context 2) abandon the OOB Financial Categories and create new ones which better align with our Chart of Accounts and context or 3) a hybrid approach making use of both.

Howdy, Stranger!
