Is it possible to perform an Import Item FBDI with automatic item number assignments?

Summary:

Our organization currently manually creates items in PIM and the system generates the item number after certain details are passed. We are looking to use the item import FBDI to create these item numbers to reduce the manual process. Is it still possible to perform the item import FBDI and link all the tabs together (ex. categories, relationships, associations, dffs, etc.) without passing an item number, since the system currently generates it?
