Notification for wrong scanning in the picking task
During the execution of the picking process, if a picker scans an incorrect item barcode, the system (via the RF device) immediately stops the process and displays an error message stating “Wrong Item.” The picker must then scan the correct requested item to proceed.
Currently, it is unclear whether these wrong scanning attempts are being logged in the inventory history or elsewhere in the system. Having visibility into this data is important for the following reasons:
- Error Analysis – By tracking the number and frequency of wrong scans, we can identify patterns and potential root causes.
- Performance Monitoring – It allows us to determine which users are making repeated scanning errors.
