Rates by project type

Summary:

Our business operates blended cost rates [based on salary + overheads] for billable projects, non-blended costs rates [based on salary only] for capital projects and internal projects. Overheads are approximately 40% of salary but can vary by departments. I was hoping to create separate rate schedules by project types to achieve this requirement. We use job rate schedule.

I created 3 project types [External, Capital, Internal] and linked them to reference sets. External projects are linked to reference set XX_PJF_EXT_PROJ_SET. You will also notice this reference set is linked in the rate schedule as well. See attached screen shots. However, I’m not able to link the appropriate reference set to organisation costing rules. This is because Rates Set in BU Assignment is set to “Common”. But unable to override to a required reference set in Project Unit options too. But if I switch to Project Rates Set field to “Common” in Manage Rate Schedule then I’m able to
