Setting input rules for the Quick Add screen

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

I have the following questions.

  1. Open a transaction.
  2. Click "Quick Add" in the Transaction Line.
  3. The "Quick Add" screen opens.

You can enter the part_number and display_number, but I would like it to be so that an error occurs if any combination other than the correct one is entered.
Just to clarify, this is a workaround for a bug that causes strange behavior when there are multiple identical display_numbers.

Is this possible?
