Can we Activate the Inactive Custom Hold?

Summary:

We have created a custom hold for Freight, where at invoice level the user has selected the type as Freight then the system will put Freight Hold and it will go for respective approver for hold release. Now, we have a user requirement to Inactive the Freight hold temporary.

In Manage Invoice Holds and Releases there is an option to add Inactive Date for Hold. If we do that then can we re-activate it in future? If we inactive it now, then will system allow to Release the hold which are there on existing invoice?
