Termination Date is auto-populating based on Notification Date. Is there a way to prevent this?

We are on Redwood V3 Terminate Employment.
As of 25C, Termination Date is now auto-populating based on Notification Date. Is there a way to prevent?

We would like to revert back to the behavior that required submitters to populate a date for Termination Date field.

If the field auto-populates, managers tend to not update the field with the correct value.
