Linking Redwood SP to Existing Courses and Impact on Reporting

We are exploring the new Self-Paced Learning Redwood Experience page and I’m trying to understand how it works in relation to existing courses.
Currently, many of our courses have both options: ILT offering and SP offering under the same course.
If we enable the Self-Paced Learning Redwood Experience and create SP content through that page, it appears to create a brand new course (with its own SP offering) rather than linking to our existing course that has an ILT offering. This means the ILT and SP versions would become two separate courses, which would also mean they are reported separately in OTBI instead of being combined under one course.
