Date between effective start date and effective end date

I am trying to create an otbi report on element entries historical subject area. I have to create a date filter condition in such a way so that it will ask a date from the user and the output fetched by the report should include all the records where the input date is between the effective start date and effective end date. How to do that? Where should I do it?

I am using dashboard prompt for my filter conditions. Kindly help.
