Auto match job running even when the match transaction count is not increasing

The auto match job is running from last 6-7 hours even when the system is not matching any more transactions and there is no option to cancel the auto-match job in transaction matching, causing lock of transaction matching profiles and users unable to perform any activity. Is this an ARCS performance issue or something else?
