Exclusion of OBOC Movements from Configurable Consolidation Rules

Recently we have been recommended (via SR) to add the OBOC movements (Acquisition of companies and businesses – OBOC and Disposal of companies and businesses - OBOC) to the exclusion in default configurable consolidation rule Owners Equity (Subsidiary / Proportional). Keep in mind that FCC application has EOBP enabled.

This is, presumably, to prevent the generation of values in Acquisition / Disposal – Input in Elimination consolidation level due to values in OBOC members. This might make sense because OBOC (Opening Balance Ownership Change) is just an adjustment over opening balances when ownership of an entity changes.

I found this a bit worrying because it implies the manual change of a default rule to adjust the behavior of an automatically populated member, such as OBOC movements.

Howdy, Stranger!
