Is it possible to remove the Award Close Date

Summary:

We do not use the Award Close Date (we do not want transactions posting after the End Date), however it auto populates to 90 Days from the End Date. I am aware that this field was turned on a few yrs back, but we would like to be able to remove the 90 days and leave this field blank.

Since it auto populates if the person setting up the award forgets to remove this date it causes havoc with expenditures later on. Where in our configuration does this 90 day default reside?
