Create KPI to display number of days left in a project?

Summary:

Attempting to create a KPI that triggers a status when there are a certain number of days left in a project. I was looking around and saw there are custom measure options based on days and ability to select time-based dimensions but had no luck with the formula options. Is it possible to do something like this with KPIs?
