How to keep smart search filters intact

I’m using Smart Search filters on my page. A user selects a predefined filter and the results are displayed in the table below. From there, the user can navigate to another screen by selecting a specific row. However, when the user returns to the previous screen, the Smart Search filters and the search results are lost.

How can I retain the Smart Search filter values even after the user navigates away?

In a traditional search screen, this works if we create the search criteria variable and ADP at the flow or app level. How can I achieve the same behavior with Smart Search?
