Pending Close Period Status to allow only certain billing events

Summary:

We have revenue accruals which can be booked only in the second week of the month. We are keeping the period in pending close status to achieve that. However we notice that we can enter any billing event when period is in pending close status. Is it possible to restrict to use only certain event types when period is in pending close status?
