Oracle Linux : How to Install 'Server With GUI' Packages on Servers not Connected to Internet

Linux OS - Version Oracle Linux 7 and later

Goal:

This document explains steps to install Server With GUI packages on servers that are not connected to the internet.

Solution:

This process involves the following steps:

  1. Download the Oracle Linux OS ISO image same as the installed OS from here or from public-yum
  2. Copy the Oracle Linux ISO image on to the servers that requires Server with GUI packages.
  3. Create the temporary YUM repository using the Oracle Linux ISO image contents. Reference the below documents on how to create it.
    Oracle Linux 7
    Oracle Linux 8 and above
  4. Run the command below to install the package.
