How to distribute policy assignment values set on multiple codes that are substitutes for each other

Let me describe the business case we are dealing with.

Our client currently uses a system based on the concept of “parent codes” and “child codes.” The parent code is a type of item, such as “syringes,” and the child codes are the various types of syringes, each of which can be purchased from a different supplier.

When planning items, demand is calculated based on the parent code, and after calculating the quantities to be ordered, the customer can decide which variant to order, based on the current market price, by indicating the supplier code.

It has been decided to transfer the management of the master data to Oracle, where only the child codes are registered, so demand will be defined for each individual variant.
