Safety stock for components with Safety stock method as Days of cover not claculating by system

Summary:

We have defined the safety stock calculation as User Specified Values for all items in the plan options under the supply plan.

For finished goods, the safety stock is being calculated correctly based on the setup when the safety stock method is defined as Days of Cover.

However, for components using the same Days of Cover safety stock method, the system is not calculating any safety stock. The field appears blank even though dependent demand exists and there is no gross forecast.

We would like clarification on whether the system considers only the gross forecast while calculating the average daily demand, or if it also includes dependent and other demand types when computing safety stock using the Days of Cover method
