Is it possible to consider last work date instead of termination date while we terminate?

I have a query regarding the employee termination process in Oracle Cloud HCM. Specifically, we are exploring scenarios where an employee’s actual last working day differs from the formal termination date. In such cases, is it possible to consider the Last Work Date as the Effective Date for termination instead of relying solely on the Termination Date field?
We are exploring scenarios where the employee's actual last working day differs from the formal termination date, and we would like to ensure that its not impact other downstream processes reflect the correct date of exit without being impacted by this discrepancy.
