Source Application Code in projects

"Source Application Code" column in Projects FBDI -

The third-party application from which the project originates. The application code must be defined in the Source Application lookup type. If a value is not entered, the source application code is set to OPEN_INTERFACE.

Can anyone share insights on how to configure the “Source Application Code” in Oracle PPM Cloud?
Additionally, please confirm whether this field can be utilized by integrations or APIs for project creation and updates.
