Redwood Request Position Change - Hard Stop Warning/Error on Business Unit & Status Field

Hello!

We are working to implement Redwood for Request Position Change. In this process, we noticed that we are unable to hide or read only on the business unit field & status field. Since our line managers are not permitted to change these fields, we have attempted to implement a "hard stop" error message/warning. Unfortunately, when we do so we are unable to proceed even if the fields haven't been changed. We only need to prevent continuation if the field was changed. Does anyone know how to solve this?
