Unable to set up direct debit because same bank details used for payroll

Summary:

We are a university with an onsite children's nursery for staff to use. We have had a problem in that a staff member wishes to pay for the nursery place by direct debit, but we are unable to set it up as it states that the same bank details are already in use for payroll.

How do we get around this issue?
