External applicants getting error: Must not contain special characters etc

Hi

We have several external applicants who are getting the following error when they try to submit their application: 'Must not contain special characters; Be equal to or less than 30 characters; Must not contain double spaces or start and end with a space' (see attached screenshot).

I have tried inserting erroneous text into various fields on the application (First Name, Last Name etc) but can't reproduce the error. Has anyone else seen this error and if so, which fields on the external application is it referring to?
